The tree is gone, cut down and stacked in the wood pile.
Ungainly and unwanted, except for those few hours of glorious flower
though not enough to be wanted, cherished, valued.

It is gone and now...

  1. Of all the woods I know, cherry is among the most desirable. But then, I also love walnut, oak, maple, mesquite, pine and fir each for its own special qualities. Kind of like people I suppose – richness in diversity.

    • Hi Gary, it was an ornamental cherry planted long ago in the wrong spot. It had a broken top and was just not an attractive tree. Except for a few days in the early Spring. I’m not one to haphazardly cut down trees. But in this case, it’s subtraction is an addition to the garden. Enjoy your day, my friend.
