I am a writer and poet living in the Missouri Ozarks. That sounds like I am off living in the woods somewhere but really I am happily ensconced in a lovely little home with my husband and our adorable pup, Theodore Valentine. Our house faces a cove in Cedar Hollow on Table Rock Lake and we are just a hop, skip and jump from the waters edge.
Not a native of the Ozarks, I fell in love with this region over 28 years ago on a quintessentially perfect October weekend in the Arkansas Ozarks – perfect weather, extraordinarily blue sky, glowing maples trees in all their fiery foliage. It was love at first sight.
We moved and stayed in the Arkansas Ozarks for 12 years and have lived in the Missouri Ozarks since 2002.
This blog will feature articles on the seasons of this region, a few photos here and there, poetry and maybe a recipe or two along the way.
Also on this site, I am writing a memoir of our time living in an 1880’s farmhouse in Northwest Arkansas called The Last Really Good Shack. It was one of the great loves of my life and it is wonderful to recall our experiences in the country. I think you will enjoy our adventures (and misadventures, too!).
I hope you find something interesting and will return to read here again!
Thanks for dropping by!
