A visit to the April garden

Columbines in the garden 2014

Tadpoles 2014

Our garden is beginning to bloom filled with columbine and bleeding hearts. The little volunteer dogwood and redbud trees are thriving – and we have our first blooms on one of the dogwoods this year – and one of the redbuds had one tiny bloom – it seemed so proud!
And as you can see, we will have a nice outbreak of frogapalooza soon – the pond is filled to the brim with tadpoles!

  1. oh, I’m so glad you shared! I’ve been missing having a garden of my own lately – it helps to walk the neighborhood, but I love seeing what others have in their gardens… I just painted a little picture of a columbine yesterday afternoon – my mom always had them in her garden and I had them in mine πŸ™‚ and can’t wait to see the frogs!

    • it is always a surprise to see what the columbine have decided to do with themselves each spring – many seem to be going to mauve and burgundy but there is always something completely new each year. Our hummingbirds are back – so must mean spring has finally made herself at home. Enjoy your day, my friend! K
