Foggy Friday morning in January

fog filled
the cove hovers in space and time
a doorway from dreaming to waking
mists rise from the still waters
all is calm
all is bright
the silence of the morning
as the world holds its breath
in this quietness
the gentleness of fog and mist
I hold grace in my hands
small and still

Autumnal Equinox

Autumn on the lake

sepia tones of fallen leaves and clotted clouds
reflect on still water and the ease
of breath,
light and shadow.

with every leaf pale hour,
the minutes fall,
leaves floating on the cool north breeze
each wishing for equilibrium
in autumnal rest.
