light
sown like seeds
across the morning sky
falling onto fertile fields
freshening scent of thawing
and warming earth
the fallow fields of winter
awaken
light
sown like seeds
across the morning sky
falling onto fertile fields
freshening scent of thawing
and warming earth
the fallow fields of winter
awaken
smelling of salt water
and magnolias
the south wind
melts the ice on the eaves
sound of water
burbles
and drips
and gushes
melting snow
rushes to the gray rocky shore
*** Well, it was 62 degrees this afternoon, so the snow is all gone except in the shadiest of spots. Our temps should stay in the 50s and 60s thru the end of the week and then our next cold front with a few snowflakes arrives – just in time for the first day of winter – smiles!
