sweeping sand

I wander thru the wilderness
with a broom and pen
sweeping up the footprints
left in shifting sand
writing secrets on every leaf
blowing in the wind
til the ink stained sky
falls on the land
and
the
night
creeps
in
still I sweep
til the path is smooth
and I wait
for the sandy footprints
to reappear
again
