Night steals a bit more daylight
as the earth edges towards the autumnal equinox
and my balance
begins to be a bit more steady
standing on my head
while balancing an egg
on its point.
Not really sure
what’s the point of that exercise
but the rooster crows a little later each morning
as we rise and shine into a new dawn –
all things equal
and balanced
and I think we’ll have scrambled today.
How do you like your toast?
Well, I understand why the egg’s served scrambled! Great treatise 🙂
Fall & Winter used to bug me while I still was a wage slave; going to the office in the dark, returning in the dark; days so short that SAD descends on many. Nice piece though, & I like the poetic notion that night is cast as thief.
LOL. I LOVE this! One has to admire an egg who can survive such a feat, hee hee. I can feel you expanding into retirement. Isnt it great?
This period can be tough. maybe focus on the simple question to get the day started.. soon it will be dark when I go up…
