signed and sealed
the heron closed the deal
fished out and framed
the afternoon delivers
sun and water reflections
of a wilder life
witness of a quieter day
shot through with lavender and blues
feathered and crested in the music
of guitars and mandolins
echoing across the still water
*** we attended an Earth Day celebration organized by friends at Roots 86 Salon south of Branson, MO today. And I won a beautiful photograph of a blue heron by Gary Dorland in the silent auction. All the benefits went to the Audubon Society in Joplin. It was a beautiful day and a great success. And I am thrilled with my blue heron!
what a lovely prize! 🙂 congrats on your acquisition – and for a good cause too, which makes it all the more special… have a wonderful week, my friend!
I am so thrilled with the photo- may redo the living room around it 🙂 taking vaca this week – spring cleaning and house projects are the plan – but a little time to do a few frivolous things too 🙂 Thanks, Sarah!
I’m getting the spring cleaning itch too! nothing quite like opening up the windows to that spring breeze when you’re done with it all and just ENJOYING it 🙂
nothing like the smell of murphys oil soap in the morning 🙂
I like your juxtaposition of wildlife and music. I’ve a few wildlife-inspired poems on my blog. Comments welcome. 😉
