a question of seeing
in and out of the garden
the re-enchantment of everyday life
down in the garden
bird by bird
red oaks and black birches
wide meadows
a walk in the woods
the education of the heart
the gift of peace

A brilliant piece from a prompt at dverse
This piece flows so well, one wouldn’t suspect – without seeing the photograph – that it was composed of book titles. Beautifully done.
A truly lovely poem, K….and so clever ..”a question of seeing”..I love it! 🙂
Kathleen, this is a beautiful poem with a natural (pun intended) feel to it. The final couplet seals the deal for me … smiles
I really like the flow of this poem. Peace, Linda
So glad to see you do this! I’ve pondered trying a book spine poem myself, but haven’t actually sat down to try yet. This is wonderful!
A lovely garden insight… very nice.
This has such a beautiful quality to it, especially with nature as its theme.
I think this is not only beautiful, but also clever! The stack of book titles is a wonderful metaphor for what writing can bring to us, as summed up in the last couplet. I’m off to look up some these titles, and also to read some messages from my own bookcase ….. 🙂
i loved the education of the heart combined with the peace gift… they surely are tied closely together…
Your poem gave me a very peaceful feeling. The final couplet SEALED that feeling. Nice.
This is a wonderful stack, the poem stands alone too – without the benefit of the books that it is drawn from. Nicely ordered!
This is so peaceful and well done… Meditative, really. I think you and I might be friends if we lived close together.
I think this is my fave of the spine poems….I love Ann Lamott, dont you?
Indeed, it is a question of seeing–and having such things around as are worth seeing. Beautifully done!
This was perfect. Good job!
