she sits
translucent
somehow
smaller
each year
transformed
blue rivers
of veins pulse
in her hands
that once held such power
and music
her charm still present
in flashing green eyes
or is it hazel
or now
gray
weather warms or chills
with those eyes
as it always has
in our orbit
around her
gravity
Superb!!
written with absolute grace – really enjoyed this one!
Beautiful Kathleen, it made me think of my Grandmother.
An old woman .. Definitivecaptivatting .. And I can definitely see her fading into a translucent being… Lovely
make sme wonder if you are talking of a person or the earth….
both are mothers….smiles…and both def have gravity.
i am glad the grands are getting time with her
that is important….
Simply elegant, Kathleen. Influence comes in many shapes, sizes and colors. Wonderful.
How lovely to have such a person (or your mom) in your life ~ I am liking how you described her hands and eyes, all compelling to her family ~
Beautiful poem, Kathleen.
Thanks, Ellen – so appreciate you and your lovely posts – K
there are people that def. have that sort of magic that they attract those around them and even if they age, their spell stays the same…she sounds like someone i would love to meet
I think moms hold their children under many spells 🙂 Mom lives with us and even at 82 and in frail health, she is still a huge presence in her childrens and grandchildrens lives. And you would love her – smiles – K
