garden gnomes-
dressed in yellow slickers-
help hide the bumblebees from the rain
***
carrying hosta leaf umbrellas-
garden imps shake the raindrops –
from the foxglove blooms
***
fairies in rain gear-
tromp thru the garden –
rescuing the tiny sodden blossoms
***
rivers flooded –
bridges washed out-
where do the trolls go?
Lovely garden you shared here in this poem.
The strongest image after that is: “fairies in rain gear-”
So sweet. Where do the trolls go anyway? Smiles.
Kathleen, you had me smiling from the first line. I can’t help but wonder, when I’m gardening, if I’m messing with those little faeries. I talk to them. Who knows?
This was a delight for my imagination!
A wonderfully vivid write! Very light and cheery!
thanks Charles! K
I love the hosta leaf umbrellas – how appropriate! As for the trolls, I can’t say I much care what happened to them. They’re grumpy and a drag to be around.
Nancy
But its always better to know where they are – certainly don’t like to run into them unaware! Thanks Nance! K
oh nice..i like all the trolls and gnomes and fairies in your garden…wonderfully magical…
I like them too – smiles and thanks! K
charming and delightful – every bit of it! 🙂
Sarah – thanks! K
This is delightful!
So happy you liked it! K
I really dig this one. I actually got a chuckle out of the fairies in rain gear bit. ❤
That was the first idea I had – struck me as funny too. So happy you dropped by – thanks K
I like your image of the trolls doing what they can with the rain…
And you just never know about trolls and what they are about….
smiles and thanks – K
