Laziness

I have become lazy with the beautiful weather. After having such terrible weather all year – snow storms, flooding rains, cold and wet spring, then the heat and drought of the summer, the fall temperatures were a relief. A treasure to hold in our hands – to turn each lovely day around and around like a precious thing. Opening our windows to the cool air and sleeping under the quilt for the first time since May.

But now, they are common. Just another perfect day – ho hum – yawn.Their perfection has made me lazy.

A laziness that I will regret with the first freeze. When the dropping temperatures will slap my face and I will be brought to my senses again. And I will long for those perfect autumn days until next year.
