Undertow
The wind
Relentless against the trees
Turning the leaves inside out
Sounding of the surf roaring to shore
Waves crashing against the rocks
Pounding reverberating in my chest
The wind
I am tired of the wind
Weary of the waves
Dragged down by the undertow
I am drowning
In the wind
Drowning in the leaves
The undertow
The wind

So beautifully written Kathleen, and I get the feeling you are a bit weary and dragged down not just by the weather… Sorry to read about your recent loss of Lulu, I hope the undertow becomes less soon.
Thank you for your kindness – it has been a difficult week. Kathleen
Creates a feeling of being overwhelmed by the forces of earth, wind and water. Beautiful!
